How Did your Journey Begin
Miranda Askie Designs is quite a versatile fashion line. We have been in business for over 15 years, started out with bespoke accessories in jewelry making.Presently I have incorporated and expanded on accessories along with a clothing line. For the past few years, I have concentrated on flowing garments which complements the accessories, making the business a one stop shop for clothing and accessories. Throughout the years, men have always asked to be included in this conversation and now we are embracing them with full force.
I would like my customers to feel confident, comfortable, inspired, bold and appreciated from simplicity to extravagance. Though some pieces may be extraordinary, I want them to feel they're owning their space, they're in charge, and embracing themselves in having that conversation.
How Has the Journey Progressed
"On my journey to evolve my skill-set, having the opportunity to work with so many mediums, specifically; Copper, Brass, Sterling Silver, and Bead Weaving. The possibilities always seemed endless"
What Are your days Like
"A typical day for me, starts with a prayer and becoming one with nature through routine walks and meditation- focusing on the movement and sound of nature’s elements, with my biggest muse being the Caribbean Sea and its surrounding islands. I am someone who draws inspiration from my interactions with various people in my life, for instance, my family, clients and even my own multifaceted skill-set and personality."
What is your Design Process
Each design takes on different moods, ideas and structures that creates a bold conversation. From wire wrapping to soldering pieces together molding, casting and creating a design with semi precious stones is of pure delight and gives me great satisfaction when I see the customer’s excitement on their purchase.
What Inspires Askie Designs Everyday
I draw inspiration from all of my life’s experiences when It comes to creating design concepts for my pieces, specifically starting with nature, then my pieces evolve when I think of my demographic- The bold personalities of the ladies and men who like me, love a bespoke piece to complete their various attires.
